The Petal Pusher

Tuesday, May 12, 2026 | Doors: 5:30 PM | Program Starts: 6:00 PM

"The Petal Pusher" is an ode to New York City's Penn Station, the busiest and perhaps dingiest transit hub in North America. It's told through the prism of what was one of the longest-running small businesses there: The Petal Pusher. The film will be followed by a panel discussion with Filmmakers David Abel and Mark Chesak with audience Q&A.

Wonders of the Arctic

Set in the frozen wilderness at the top of the world, Wonders of the Arctic tells the story of survival in one of the most unforgiving environments on earth dominated by a single element: ice. Faraway in this glittering world of ice and snow, polar bears tussle, huskies howl and narwhals dive within the turquoise waters. Through compelling stories told by scientists and Inuit leaders, viewers will discover the impact of ice on the Arctic’s inhabitants, both animals and humans.

An ode to New York’s Penn Station and one of its longest-running businesses, “The Petal Pusher” is a reflection on the economics of love (and desperation), and it’s a testament to a bygone era. At its heart, this is a story about love, loss, and family.

AHA! Night. Designed for all ages, this lively evening invites families, young adults, and lifelong learners to explore the museum through hands-on activities, gallery discoveries, poetry, and art-making.
