Pacific Maritime Trade: Visit to the New Bedford Whaling Museum

Organized by the Center for East Asian Studies, Five College Consortium

Saturday, September 28, 2024
9:00 am – 1:00 pm at the New Bedford Whaling Museum (In-person workshop)

Spend the morning with us at the New Bedford Whaling Museum in New Bedford, MA and explore Pacific Maritime trade, whaling, and more. Join with colleagues as we take a deep dive into The Wider World & Scrimshaw exhibit before moving on to the East Meets West gallery. We'll wrap up the morning by sharing ideas on classroom applications for what we've learned.

This in-person workshop is for in-service K-12 educators from CT, RI, MA, NH, VT and ME.  Participants who attend the entire workshop will receive admission to the museum, certificate of completion for 4 contact hours and a small travel stipend.

For additional information about the workshop, contact Anne Prescott, aprescott@fivecolleges.edu
