Celebrate the spirit of the season at the Whaling Museum’s final First Friday of the year: Winter Brass – A Festive First Friday. This special evening features a live performance by the high-energy Southcoast Brass Band, guaranteed to bring bold holiday cheer with their New Orleans-inspired sound.

Enjoy full after-hours access to the Museum’s galleries starting at 5 PM. At 6 PM, the music begins—an unforgettable set of festive brass, funk, and soul performed by one of the region’s most dynamic ensembles. Explore the galleries, sip on light refreshments, and take in the joyous atmosphere!  Don’t forget to visit the Museum Store for unique, locally inspired gifts perfect for the holidays.

Live Music by: The Southcoast Brass Band
Founded in 2017 by Dr. Michael Rocha, the Southcoast Brass Band brings bold, New Orleans-inspired brass to venues and festivals across the region. Rocha also performs with the Southcoast Jazz Orchestra and has helped keep live jazz thriving on the South Coast.
