The fine Arts Club

On Thursday, January 18 at 6:00 PM, the Whaling Museum will host the New Bedford Light Fine Arts Club, in the Jacobs Family Gallery. Moderated by Local artists Scott Bishop and Devin “Nived” McLaughlin, the Fine Arts Club is a place to celebrate talented local artists; a marketplace where buyers, enthusiasts and artists meet. And if something strikes you, it’s also a place where everything is for sale. More than 25 works of art have been sold for a combined $6,000 through the Fine Arts Club.
After the artists present their work and take questions from the audience we hold a 30-minute “Afterglow,” a loosely structured open discussion among the artists, buyers and other attendees about art-related topics.
Any local artist who practices in one of the fine arts and all prospective art buyers are welcome. Disciplines include drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography and textiles. Artists interested in submitting their work can learn more on the New Bedford Light's website. Admission is free, but registration is kindly requested.
