Sea Chanteys On The Lagoda

Butler Flats comprises a five-member vocal harmony singing group that specializes in sea-chanteys and other genres of sea music. The group originated from members of the Greater New Bedford Sea Chantey chorus who felt disheartened when their regular performance schedule concluded in the fall.

One of the singers took the initiative to invite specific members to establish a sub-group, aiming to prevent skills from stagnating during the winter months. Collectively, they boast over a hundred years of experience in singing sea music and are also avid Museum members, eager to contribute their talents to the program.
