The History of Ernestina Morrissey and Captain Tiffany Krihwan -- A Virtual Sailors’ Series Talk

Join Captain and Director for the National Historic Park and Landmark, Schooner Ernestina Morrissey, Tiffany J. Krihwan, for a lively talk about Ernestina Morrissey’s amazing history. Tiffany will explore the vessel’s story as one of the oldest traditionally rigged of its kind and how it continues to set sail. She will also share how her sailing career led her to becoming Captain of the Commonwealth’s Official Vessel and a faculty member at Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

BIO

Captain Tiffany Krihwan has more than 25-years of experience in the maritime industry.  Her areas of expertise are in maintaining and sailing traditionally rigged sailing vessels, and inspiring learners of all ages through experiences with these great ships. She currently holds her 500 GRT Masters License with Sail and Ocean Endorsement, and has her international 3000 GT Masters. Tiffany received the “Sail Trainer of the Year” award from Tall Ships America in 2019 and joined Massachusetts Maritime Academy in March of 2021, where she is overseeing the final stages of the restoration of the historic schooner Ernestina Morrissey. The Ernestina Morrissey's much anticipated re-launch is planned for the summer of 2022.
