Framing Our Heritage: Apprentice Exhibition Celebration

Framing our Heritage

Hosted by the New Bedford Whaling Museum High School Apprentices

Thursday, May 4, 2023 | 4:30-6:30p

The New Bedford Whaling Museum High School Apprentices invite you to explore and celebrate their original exhibition, Framing Our Heritage. In Framing Our Heritage, Apprentice curators and artists bring together photographs, maps and objects from the Whaling Museum collection, original art created by Apprentice, and loaned family treasures. The exhibition celebrates diversity in personal identities, but also the communities that connect and shape us. Framing Our Heritage asks visitors: “what makes you who you are?”

The New Bedford Whaling Museum Apprenticeship Program provides high school students in New Bedford with resources and experiences that deepen community engagement, promote personal and professional development, and cultivate college and career success. Framing Our Heritage was planned, designed and curated by the 2022-2023 New Bedford Whaling Museum High School Apprentices.
