A Canção da Terra (Brum do Canto, 1938, 115’)

In Porto Santo, an archipelago of Madeira island, the drought rages. Gonçalves, a local farmer, tries to overcome the situation with the help of Bastiana, his loved one. João Venâncio, who refuses to share the water of his field with the population in distress, tries to steal Bastiana’s heart.
