Eligibility

To be eligible for the Apprenticeship Program, applicants must be New Bedford residents who are currently enrolled in the 9th grade, in good academic standing, and meet income levels as defined in the application. As part of the application process, Apprentices will submit a signed Income Verification Form as required by our funders.

Application Process

  • Application forms must be completed by using the digital form or paper forms available at the Museum's front desk.
  • Completed forms and a copy of your most recent report card can be submitted to: Phoebe Magee, Manager of Young Adult Programs at the New Bedford Whaling Museum.
  • Potential candidates will be invited to the Museum for an interview.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with a priority deadline of April 4, 2022.

Manager of Young Adult Programs, Phoebe Magee, is happy to schedule a virtual or in-person info session for your classroom. Interested students can also sign up to visit the Museum, or meet with a Program Manager.
