Friday, October 2, 2026 | Doors at 5:00 PM and Music Program & Reception at 6:00 PM
This October marks the second edition of the New Bedford Whaling Museum’s Indie Music Showcase: A Moving Feast for the Ears! The festival will take place during the October edition of our First Friday music series.

Myles Goulart is an artist from Fairhaven, MA. He utilizes the pedal harp to write songs that settle somewhere among joy and horror.

Vudu Sister is a gothic folk ensemble from Providence, RI with two decades of performance experience. Fronted by French-American songwriter, Keith J.G. McCurdy, their music is a lush arrangement of acoustic guitar, violin, and evocative lyrics and vocals. Their work is influenced by European folk, 90s grunge, the literature of H.P. Lovecraft, and poetry and myths of classical antiquity.

Hailing from South Shore, MA, Moon Room combines dueling guitars and driving rhythm section to craft a blend of 80s new wave, 90s alternative/ shoegaze, and early aughts rock with a modern feel. For fans of The Cure, My Bloody Valentine, Dinosaur Jr, Alice In Chains.

New Bedford-based Scapeghost dips pop songs in unusual sounds. Think of them as Brian Eno producing the weird love child of the Flaming Lips and Hüsker Dü.

The Devil’s Twins have spent the last 10 years spreading their own gospel. Best described as noir-punk, they have been tearing up stages in the Boston underground scene with fiery performances alongside the likes of Slash, Slaine, July Talk, Local H, and The Misfits.
With 11 Boston Music Awards nominations, and 2 wins that include Rock Artist of the Year, it’s no surprise they developed a cult of followers dubbed the “2crew” due to their matching “2” tattoos taken from the band’s logo.
The Twins will be performing a special acoustic set to close out this year’s Indie Fest.
