Boo City

Providence, RI–based Boo City delivers a genre-blending sound that is energetic, melodic, and refreshingly original. Their music merges Country-Blues, Indie Rock, Reggae, Retro-Soul, and Folk influences—sometimes all in the same song—creating a dynamic and unpredictable live experience.

The band’s vocal pairing of Tai Awolaju’s smoky, sultry tone with Andrew Moon Bain’s deep, resonant voice brings depth and warmth to every track. Horn players Frank Moniz and Grayson Farmer add brassy texture, while Harry Milloff’s inventive, groove-driven bass lines keep the energy flowing.

Praised by Providence Monthly for electrifying rooms both intimate and expansive, Boo City draws inspiration from The Clash, Sam Cooke, Jimi Hendrix, and King Tubby. Their performances blend brassy R&B, bass-heavy dub, country blues, and electrifying guitar work into a vibrant, unforgettable evening of music.

First Fridays at the New Bedford Whaling Museum offer extended evening hours once a month, inviting the community to experience the Museum in a relaxed, social setting.
