4:00–7:00 PM | Explore Our Ecosystem: Climate Change, Whales, and Us
In the Jacobs Family Gallery (lower level), explore how watersheds and ecological networks connect people, plants, and the environment. Learn how human activity and climate change impact ecological balance—and consider our shared responsibility to protect the Earth. From 4:00 to 6:00 PM, meet University of Massachusetts Dartmouth ecology students and learn about their Capstone Projects.
4:00–7:00 PM | OSS Ocean Science & Art Showcase: Data, Climate, and Creativity
In the Harbor View Gallery, experience a powerful student showcase from Our Sisters’ School (OSS) in partnership with scientists, fishermen, and artists. Through a two-year collaboration with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), the Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen’s Alliance, and artist Jill Pelto and Deb Erhens, students explore how ocean data connects to climate change and marine life.
Engage with student-created data-driven artwork and research that brings real-world ocean science to life. From 5:00–6:00 PM, students will present their findings and share their experiences working alongside researchers and industry experts. Stay for a celebratory reception at 6:00 PM and connect with the community around this inspiring intersection of science, art, and storytelling.
Join us for a dynamic evening that brings together exploration of art, science, and sustainability.
