A Celebration of New Bedford’s historic figures and more!

Len Cabral, a great grandson of Cape Verdean whalers, kicked off the festivities and captivated audiences with engaging adventures and folktales from the past. Monday’s activities started at 10 am and included Len Cabral’s performance, a photo booth with costumes of historical characters, a giant inflatable whale that kids could climb inside, tours below deck on the whaleship Lagoda, a variety of arts and crafts, and a movie about Frederick Douglass.
