Cape Verdean Independence Day Concert

July 5th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Music by KabuJazz Ensemble and John Miranda's Band. Donations to benefit the Cape Verdean Scholarship Fund.

Scrimshaw Weekend 2013

The annual Scrimshaw Weekend, held at the Whaling Museum each year since 1989, is the world's only regular forum for scrimshaw enthusiasts.

A week of programming in February celebrated the Dabney legacy with events at the Museum, the Providence Athenaeum, Bristol Community College, and Boston College.

37th Whaling History Symposium

Held at the Museum with a focus on the New Bedford Port District – October 19th and 20th

Valentine's Day Chocolate Primer

This free public event featured talks by two chocolate historians and sampling of authentic colonial chocolate beverage recipes.

Sailors' Series 2013

The 2013 lecture series featured individuals with lifelong commitments to sailing, boats and the sea.
