Party for the Ocean: Winds and Waves Edition

Wednesday, July 31
10 am – 3 pm
Jacobs Family Gallery
FREE and open to the public

Explore wind, waves, whales, and ocean health at Party for the Ocean, one of three free family events planned for Wind and Waves Wednesdays at the Whaling Museum this summer. Learn how to harness the power of wind and waves, investigate how marine animals adapt to windy, wavy habitats, and meet people who are working to protect marine and coastal environments. Taking inspiration from the exhibition De Wind is Op! Climate, Culture and Innovation in Dutch Maritime Painting, visitors can create their own works of art. The Whale Guitar, a one-of-a-kind, hand-made electric guitar in the shape of a sperm whale, will be making an appearance as well.

Party for the Ocean is presented in partnership with Buttonwood Park Zoo, Buzzards Bay Coalition, Lloyd Center for the Environment, National Marine Life Center, and The Whale Guitar Project.

Groups of 10 or more are asked to give advance notice by emailing education@whalingmuseum.org.
