2020 Moby-Dick Marathon
1. Where is the Marathon taking place?
In multiple areas throughout the museum and the Seamen’s Bethel across the street. The timing is detailed in print program available at the Museum. Open the program all the way for a map.
2. Is there food and drink available?
Snacks and drinks are available for purchase. Starting at 5 pm on Saturday, there will be complimentary chowder, and beer for purchase.
3. Can I get a seat in the Seamen’s Bethel?
If you did not sign up for the drawing for a seat, you can still see Father Mapple’s sermon via livestream in the Museum’s theater (Lower Level).
4. Can I come and go?
Yes. You may enter and exit through the main Museum entrance as you please.
5. If I haven’t signed up, can I still read?
Reading spots have all been assigned. However, you can sign up at the reader log-in table to be a “stand-by” reader.
No backpacks or oversized bags – free lockers are provided near the front desk; food and drink is allowed in the Jacobs Family Gallery, the Bourne Building, and Harbor View Gallery only (not in other galleries); photography is permitted, but no flash allowed.
