Friday, August 7, 2026 | 5:00 PM – Doors Open | 6:00 PM – Putnam Murdock Quartet Live
On a warm summer evening in our charming seaside city, escape into the air-conditioned galleries of the New Bedford Whaling Museum and enjoy stunning harbor views, live music, and culture. August’s First Friday brings together art, community, and the rich Americana sounds of the Putnam Murdock Quartet—perfect for a date night or an evening out with friends.
Putnam Murdock Quartet
Putnam Murdock is a touring Americana songwriter whose music draws deeply from folk, blues, and country traditions. He began his professional career as front man for the Colorado-based band Chief Broom, performing nationally before launching a solo career following his studies in songwriting at Berklee College of Music. Whether performing solo or with a full ensemble, Murdock’s songs are known for their intimacy, strong storytelling, and timeless Americana sound.
Murdock has since toured extensively across the U.S., sharing stages with artists including Martin Sexton, Taj Mahal, Gregory Alan Isakov, Ben Taylor, and Kaki King. His songwriting has earned recognition from the International Songwriting Competition, and his recordings have appeared on official Grammy ballots.
