Join the New Bedford Whaling Museum and third-generation Azorean-American Scott Edward Anderson for "Azorean Suite: A Voyage of Discovery Through Ancestry and Whaling,” a virtual reading and talk focusing on the connections between the Azores, New Bedford, and Rhode Island.
This event is inspired by Anderson’s explorations of his own heritage, which in turn inspired his book-length poem Azorean Suite/Suite Açoriana: A poem of the moment/Um poema do momento. Anderson will share passages from Azorean Suite, as well as from his work-in-progress, a research-driven memoir called The Others in Me: A Journey to Discover Ancestry, Identity, and Lost Heritage.
This event is FREE, but please register in advance to receive the link.
